It's Monday again, but I'm feeling pretty well. With no complaining to do, I'll just post some links related to Mesoamerican archaeology because, well, I love that stuff.
The Caracol Archaeological Project's web site, http://www.caracol.org, was threatening to become an archaeological site itself, but recently it went through a major renovation and the field season blog is now alive again. Even though the aim of modern archaeology is more about studying the dirt then finding cool ancient treasures buried in it (sorry Indiana Jones fans for bursting your bubble), I have to say they're unearthing some cool stuff. Other than the field season blog, they also have a nice introduction to Maya and the city of Caracol, a virtual museum, excavation reports, and history of the project.
The next link is from an usual suspect, Mesoweb. They have a page on the Olmec-style effigies from Zazacatla.
And the last link is Mesoamerican Photo Archives. Dave Hixson has taken some exceptionally good quality pictures of various Mesoamerican archaeological sites. I especially the Xochicalco and Monte Alban albums.
