I got an email from Aztlan about a blog for the excavation in Calixtlahuaca, so I decided to post more archaeological excavations web sites. They tend to have pretty nice pictures of the places the mission is excavating.
The excavation at Calixtlahuaca has a website (http://www.public.asu.edu/~mesmith9/Cali x/) and a blog (http://calixtlahuaca.blogspot.com/).
The Holmul excavation also has a website (http://www.vanderbilt.edu/estrada-belli/h olmul/), although updated only very rarely. It does have cool pictures. There is also a nice website about the dig at http://www.vanderbilt.edu/exploration/ne ws/features/maya_origins/news_maya_origi ns.htm. The excavation of Cival also falls under the Holmul project. If you remember, Cival made some headlines a few years ago when giant stucco deity masks dating to the Pre-Classic were found there. It even made it to CNN, and National Geographic had a segment on Cival.
The Palenque project's website (http://www.mesoweb.com/palenque/current_ dig.html) used to be very actively updated, but it hasn't been touched in about 3 years. However, it's still a very good website.
