Expert locates tomb of short-lived Chinese emperor

A noted Chinese archaeologist, who was heavily involved in the excavation and research of Qin Shihuang's terracotta army, has located the tomb of Ziying, the third and last emperor of the Qin Dynasty (221-207 B.C.), about 500 meters from the mausoleum of Emperor Qin Shihuang in the suburbs east of Xi'an, capital of the northwestern Shaanxi Province.

This reminds me that one of my favorite series of history books is actually Larry Gonick's Cartoon History of the Universe, Vol 1 and Vol 2.  In fact, the Cartoon Guides are some of the best educational books I've seen, presenting the information truthfully but also playfully.  There are guides to physics, chemistry, US history, and even sex!  I'll definitely give Alex his own copies of Cartoon Guides when he's of age.

My husband has a copy of those books, though I've never looked through them before.

They're pretty good. Vol 2 is particularly good because it covered the Middle East, India, and China with excellent detail.
