I'm a volcano freak. I love the awesome power, both creative and destructive, of volcanoes. One of the my favorites is Kilauea on the Big Island of Hawaii, and I visit the Hawaiian Volcano Observatory's website frequently to check on the status of the current eruption at Kilauea. Today I happen to see this amazing picture of the lava flow posted on their quasi-daily updates.

I find the red and orange against the gray and black a very stark beauty.  And the patterns of molten vs solidified lava on the surface keeps me entranced for minutes.

I should sacrifice a chicken to Pele.
