For some reason Alex laughed himself awake at 5am this morning.  Took us between an hour and a half to two hours to get him back to sleep.  The problem is that once his brain goes on, it's really hard for him to lull himself back to sleep.  I really need to set up soothing music which really seems to help to put him back to sleep. 

Between that and the codeine I took last night, I'm just absolutely ditzy today.  I think that I metabolize codeine slower than the average person, so it doesn't hit me like a brick wall, but instead it makes me useless for long periods of time.  Ugh.

I just got my tickets to go see Dream Theater and Opeth in the Progressive Nation Tour 2008 on May 3rd.  Yay!  It's in downtown Oakland, which isn't exactly the safest place to be on a Saturday night.  It's going to be like a 5-hour concert, with 4 bands.  The two opening bands will play 30 minutes each.  Opeth will play 60 minutes and Dream Theater 90 minutes.  The doors open at 7pm, and if luck goes our way, we'll be out of the whole thing by midnight noon and hopefully catch a BART ride back to the suburbs. 

Now if only I can concentrate and do some work.

Christine has a doctor's appointment like 100 miles away so I picked up Alex today from school and laid him down for a nap.  Which means I'm in the bedroom with him.  Trying very hard not to fall asleep.

I'm hoping that this doc can fix her ear that has been plaguing her with dizziness, nausea, and general ickiness.  I just hate to see her feeling crappy and spacy all the time.
